More To Know
Q. What is a death doula?
A death doula provides non-medical, practical, and emotional support before, during, and after end-of-life experiences.
The role is to help individuals and families navigate decisions, reduce uncertainty, and create a more intentional and supported experience.
Q. How is this different from hospice or palliative care?
Hospice and palliative care provide essential medical support. A death doula complements that care by focusing on planning, guidance, emotional support, and helping individuals and families navigate the non-medical aspects of end-of-life.
Q. Do you replace my lawyer, doctor, or financial advisor?
No. Vero Via fills the gaps between your existing professionals. The goal is to help you organize information, clarify decisions, and ensure everything works together in a way that reflects your wishes. A death doula also serves as a steady, single point of contact to help you navigate the many logistical and emotional details that can feel overwhelming.
Q. Do you receive compensation for referrals or recommendations?
No. All guidance and recommendations are unbiased and based solely on what best supports you and your situation.
Q. How can I trust you with something this personal?
Trust is key to our relationship and I am prepared to build that trust on your terms.
In my previous work in executive leadership, I spent years navigating complex, high-stakes situations where clarity, discretion, and sound judgment mattered.
I bring that same approach to this work—supporting you through this final season.
Q. Will my information be kept confidential?
Yes. All conversations and information are handled with discretion and respect. Your privacy is a priority in every interaction.
Q. What if I have strong religious or spiritual beliefs?
Your beliefs are respected and honored. This work is not about imposing a perspective - it’s about supporting yours. All planning and conversations are guided by what matters most to you.
Q. What happens during the first conversation?
It’s a simple, no-pressure discussion.
We talk through your situation, answer your questions, and explore how support might look. There’s no obligation - just a place to start.
